Birthday Blog Hop Day Two

Hello and welcome back!  Today is day two of SweetSassyDiva's birthday blog hop.  I really hope Bobbi Jo is having an excellent birthday!

The line up for the hop is the same as yesterday so if you have again arrived here from Lucy's blog, you are right on track.   If you would like to start at the beginning, please go to SweetSasyDiva's blog.

Yesterday I shared with you a layout about my daughter's 9th birthday.  Today is the other half of the layout:

Look familiar?  It should!  One of the things I love to do is create a one page layout and then mirror it to create the page that will face it in the scrapbook.   Sometimes this is much easier to do than trying to create a full design for a 2 page layout for me.

I again used the cart Letter Envy.  I cut the rest of the title using the Font feature at one inch.  I took a close up of it in case people were wondering how it looks in real life.  Even though I don't explain this in the journaling, for the weeks leading up to her 9th birthday, we kept telling her, "Oh, we can't wait until you turn 9, then this (whatever it was at the time) won't happen anymore" and "Are you 9 yet?" when she would do something undesirable.  She thought it was funny so don't worry, we weren't being mean. :)  So the title "9 finally" is just right for this layout.

The sun at the top is actually the negative of yesterday's sun cut.  I then inked it and used a Christmas stamp in it!  The journaling block was also from Letter Envy, the crest on letter L without a lot of the layers.  It was cut at 4".

Here are the two layouts together as they will appear in my scrapbook:

Remember there are two great giveaways happening - mine, in which you can win the Cricut cart 3 Birds on Parade, and SweetSassyDiva's in which you can win the Sophie cart.  Comment and be a follower here to be eligible for 3 Birds on Parade; comment on all the hops to be eligible for the Sophie cart.  Don't forget to leave me a way to get in contact with you!

Have a very wonderful end of the weekend everyone!  You are off to Gaby's blog next!

Birthday Blog Hop Day One

Welcome to the SweetSassyDiva Birthday Blog Hop!

We are celebrating Bobbi Jo's (SweetSassyDiva) birthday this weekend March 10th and 11th.  This is going to be a fun hop showcasing lots of Birthday Themed fun!  Each blog will have one project today and a new one tomorrow!

If you've hopped over from Lucy's blog, then you are in the right place. If you've just popped in to visit my blog, please start at the beginning with Bobbi Jo's blog.  We have a WONDERFUL Grand Prize for one lucky hopper that is donated by Bobbi Jo!  It is a Cricut cartridge called Sophie.  To be eligible, please visit each blog hop stop leaving a comment also, become a follower at http://sweetsassydiva.com/ and be sure to leave a comment!  One random winner will be chosen on Wednesday, March 14th, giving you plenty of time to finish the hop.

Ok, on to the project!  The theme is birthday so I dug out some pictures of my daughter's most recent birthday.  We tricked her a little bit with her present so this is a great memory!  Here is the layout:

It was her 9th birthday and all she wanted was a new iPod touch, one with a camera.  She already had an older one.  We bought her a new case for her iPod which she opened first and was happy about.  Then she opened the bigger box, which was not the shape of an iPod but inside... if you look at the smaller right picture, you'll see her reaction to that!  Then she loved the case even more too!  :)

The 9 was cut with the latest Cricut Circle cart, Letter Envy.  It was cut at 2.5" using the Font option.

The "sun" is from another Cricut Circle cart, Paper Trimmings.  It was cut at 1.5".  I was worried about this being too small for the detail but my original E did the job just fine.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout.  Tomorrow you will see it's partner so come on back!  But wait!  Before you leave, be sure to leave me a comment to be entered to win a 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge!  You must be a follower and leave me a way to get in contact with you.  There's nothing worse than me picking you and not being able to tell you that you won!

Thank you for stopping by!  The fun doesn't end here though so hop on over to Gaby's blog!
See you tomorrow for a new project from all of us!

Seniors 2012

Recently we had Senior Night for my dance team - a celebration of all of the seniors on the team.  These are the cards I made for them.  All have a special note just for them inside.

I have six seniors and they all will be missed!  There are some great leaders in this group!

Seniors is Gypsy Font, welded together.  2012 is the Lite cart Varsity Letter.  The paw punch is EKSuccess.
