You and Me - Anniversary card

The newest Cricut Circle cartridge has arrived - Letter Envy!!  I am pretty excited about this cart and I really am not even sure why, as I typically don't like mismatched fonts.   Well, I opened it almost as soon as I got the box and flipped through the handbook.  As soon as I saw the heart with a flourish on it, I was inspired!

And it just so happened that I needed to make an anniversary card for my husband.  I am in love with him and with this card! :)

Here it is:

I cut the heart and one of it's layers at 3.5".  The & was cut at 3" and the words were cut at 2".   Everything was inked with brown to soften it all.

I also wanted the card to be soft so I didn't add pop dots but I did only glue the phrases down where they touch the heart or the ampersand.  This left the ends loose.  Hopefully you can see what I mean here in this picture:

I really like the way this card came out and am very proud of it.  I could even tell my husband liked it because after he read the inside, he closed the card and examined the front very closely.  He followed that up with a compliment about the card but it was that inspecting stage that I really appreciated!  :) :)

Our first scarf

In learning how to use the Knifty Knitter loom, my daughter and I made this scarf together.

I am very thankful to starnstv on YouTube for her videos on how to do this.

I started it and knit for awhile.  My daughter picked it up today and continued knitting until it was the length she wanted it to be.  I then finished it off by leaving the ends open.

We made a trip to the store Tuesday Morning today and were able to buy the combo packs of Knifty Knitter looms for really cheap!  We definitely are going to to be trying more things soon!

Knifty Knitter Barbie Hat

Ha!  Look what I just made!  A Barbie-size hat!  :)

I used the smallest Knifty Knitter loom.  I've never knit anything in my life so even though it's a bit ridiculous, I think it's cute!  I just had to share. ;)

A Playful Valentine

Here is a playful valentine card I created.

I used a red Cricut marker to draw the Valentine word art from Word Collage at 6".

I created the lingerie set by using the outfit from Couple12 on Shall We Dance.  I used just the top of the unitard and used a remainder of the unitard to hand cut the bottoms.  Then stickles made the pieces fancy.

I also made this card because on the Cricut messageboard there is a topic about Breast Cancer Awareness and cards that we could make for that that remind us to check ourselves and keep those ladies healthy!  There have been a bunch of really cute cards shared there and I am going to add this one.  I will also enter this into the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog, which is to create a Valentine.

Hope you like it! :)

Valentine Sour Cream Containers

I've been wanting to try this for some time now.  Last year these "sour cream containers" were everywhere!  People would say how easy they were and they were completely right!  We made these for my daughter's valentines to take to school.  My niece was also there that night and decided she wanted to make them for her class treats too.  Here we all are in the process:

Getting closer to the end, you can see how many there were!

I also made these with my younger daughter for her day care.  This time we added a sucker as well.  I used Trendy Twine to tie on the K&Co. tag.

Lastly, I made these for my dance team girls as well.  I handed them out today and they really liked them.

They were made with the K&Co. valentine stack for this year.  They were made out of 5x6 papers and were crimped on the ends.  All in all, we made about 75 of these.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

Halloween Grid Layout

Today I got the chance to be a guest designer for someone else's blog!  How exciting!

Hello!  Michele here from www.michelegreen.com.  I'm excited to be sharing with you on SweetSassyDiva today!  The challenge is to create either a layout with hidden journaling or a card with a hidden sentiment.  I took this as the perfect reason to get some scrapping done!  I know, this is a Halloween layout in the middle of all the Valentine posts you are seeing around but it's where I'm at in my latest scrapbook.  I also believe that people who scrapbook in chronological order like myself, are not always scrapping along with the current seasons or holidays.

Today I am sharing with you a  double 12x12 layout that I made:

Awhile back I made 3.5" squares of the patterns available on the Cricut Imagine carts I own.  This created a bunch of papers that have 9 holes in them.  I kept them to try a layout just like this.  I love the way it turned out!

Since these are just white pages, I inked the papers with black ink, then orange.  I then went back and added more black to the corners and places where the rows crossed.

Once I had that done, I arranged my photos and cut them to be just under 4" square.  This way I could adhere them to the back of the grid.

Next up was cutting the Cricut pieces I wanted.  I used the Wrap It Up cart - tag feature.  The bat and spider tag on this page were cut at 2".

Eeek is a Studio G stamp, while Boo came from this baby stamp set.  I didn't have any other Halloween saying small enough so I decided to use a Fantastix to ink just the Boo in Booty and use that!

For the right side of the layout, the title phrase was cut at 3", as was the witch tag.  I used orange Stickles on the pumpkin to make it shine. All of the tags have Trendy Twine tied on them. The purple paper is from a Recollections Halloween stack from this past year.

The journaling block was created by creating a card of sorts. I used the Martha Stewart Goo punch to create a fun edge.  The orange card is glued into the last grid space.

I always practice my journaling to make sure it is going to fit before I put it on the layout.  Here, I had a failed attempt at the insert so I used that to practice.

A funny thing about me is that I always write bigger while practicing than I do on the actual page so I knew my writing would fit just fine.  It was close but it worked!

I hope you enjoyed the layout I shared with you today.  Thank you SweetSassyDiva for having me!

I am entering this in the newest Ribbon Carousel challenge as well.  You can find out more info about that HERE.

Valetine Boxes using Spring Holiday Cards

Hello!  Today I would like to share with you two treat boxes I made using the Cricut seasonal cart, Spring Holiday Cards.  This cart has a lot of great simple cuts for Valentine's Day!

I used the fit to page option on a 12x12 piece of paper in my Cricut Expression.  I then cut a vertical Valentine greeting and cut it at the same size the box cut out as.  I cut it a few times in different papers so that I could cut out the hearts.  I glittered the hearts by running them through my Xyron upside down.  That leaves an even layer of adhesive for the glitter to stick to.  I did one in pink and one in white.  I also added googly eyes because I didn't like the way the eyes on the cuts looked.  I tucked a piece of yellow paper behind the words so they could be seen better (still not the best...).

For the second box, I did much the same process as above.  This time I cut again in yellow for the bee's body, glittered some white wings and the Bee Mine phrase on the bottom.  And some more googly eyes!

Here is a view of the side in case you are wondering how wide these boxes are.  They really were perfect to slip a few pieces of individually wrapped valentine candy inside.

I hope you have enjoyed and are having a great day!
