Me and Mickey's Birthday Hop!

Hello and welcome to Me and Mickey's Birthday Hop!  Today we are celebrating a fellow crafter's birthday, along with Mickey Mouse's birthday! Rexann's birthday is today, November 19!  Mickey Mouse's birthday was yesterday, Nov. 18th.  We have a great line up of bloggers for you that are all going to share projects relating to birthdays and Mickey Mouse.   These ladies are great crafters!  I hope you will join us for the hop and leave comments for everyone with your thoughts about their project!   This is the first stop on the hop.  The birthday girl is stop #5 so be sure to stop there!

Rexann loves Mickey Mouse and it just so happens that my daughter does too!  For her 2nd birthday party, we celebrated using Mickey as our theme.  I posted about the birthday projects I made in these posts.  I hadn't gotten around to scrapping her birthday pictures so this was the perfect opportunity!  I created this 12x12 two page layout to share with you today:

The left side:

The right side:

And a few close ups:

Mickey is from Mickey Font at 4".  The cupcakes are all from the Cupcake Lite cart at 1.5". I added stickles to the frosting area to make it cuter.

The title is Mickey Font cut at 1.5".  All of the patterned papers are from American Crafts Travel paper pack.

I am hoping to have the other completed layout of her party ready for you tomorrow.

I also have some blog candy for you!

To thank you for visiting, I am giving away this Mickey scrapbooking pack to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post telling me a birthday present they loved giving.  While I love to receive presents, I love giving them even more!  Tell me what you loved giving to someone!  Please also leave a way to contact you.  It is not necessary for you to be a follower of my blog but I would absolutely love it if you decide to become one!

Be sure to follow along the hop by going to Rebecca's blog next!

  1. What a precious layout! I love all the pictures and the embellishments were wonderful! One of my favorite presents that I gave away was a scrapbook that I completed of their childhood and early married life. I enjoyed creating it and especially loved their reaction to receiving it.

  6. The first thing I would like to say is that I love everything Mickey so this blog hop is awesome for me! Your two page layout was cute. The use of colors and of course the circle patterns was a creative treat. I would love to win your blog candy because I have three Disney vacations that I still have not scrapped yet.
The question of he favorite Birthday gift I loved to give was anything that I gave my stepdaughter as she loved everything I got her. The most memorable was he 17th birthday when I got her Uggs. I have not seen her for two of her birthdays now due to "family drama" but since her birthday was last week this question prompted some reminiscing.

  11. Great layout. I love the pictures. Your daughter is a cutie!

My favorite gift to give is the gift that the person least expects. An example is a scrapbook I made of my nephew's first year for my sister. We "stole" her pictures and she was frantic for weeks until I made the album and gave it to her.

  15. Oh no...I'm almost copying Linda's comment right above mine! I think the best birthday gift I ever gave was an adorable white kitten to my daughter on her 8th birthday. We put her in a box with ribbons all around her and closed the lid at the very last second. A few seconds later, my daughter opened the lid and her new kitten popped out! She cried and cried since she had wanted a kitten for so long.

Today, my daughter is 25 years old, and her cat still lives here with us. Spottie is 17 1/2 years old and still going strong!

  17. I LOVE all things Disney so I'm really looking forward to this Blog Hop!!! My favorite gift to give was a "good" 35 mm camera to my husband to use on our first trip to Disney World in 1973. Our daughter was 8 and we were soooo excited about the trip. He took wonderful photos -- and our daughter & son-in-law went to Disney World on their honeymoon!!!
