Animal Magnetism - Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge

This week the Cricut Circle blog issued a challenge to create something with or for an animal.  I chose to create this layout of my cat.  She is so crazy, she loves to lick the bathtub spout to get fresh water.  I have no idea why she does this.  She also loves to lay in the bathtub after someone gets out of the shower.  In all ways except for this, she is a normal cat who hates water.  But apparently not if it's self-inflicted???  Silly kitty....

This is a 12x12 layout.  I used a sketch from Page Maps, as I usually don't use only one photo in my layouts so I needed a little help getting going.

For the challenge, you have to include at least two Cricut cuts.  Here is a close up of a few of the cuts I used.  The top heart is from the Four Legged Friends cart.  The Relax saying is from Paper Pups.  The bathtub with shower spout is from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I inked the bathtub to give it a little more depth.

I hope you like it!  I had a lot of fun creating it!

Valentine 2011 - Day 4 - Bowl of Strawberries

I was at a loss this year as to what card to make for my husband.  So I turned to my cartridges and took a look at the possible cuts.  I came up with this card of chocolate covered strawberries.  They are cut from Celebrate with Flourish.  The bowl is an umbrella, also from CWF.

The XOXO's on the bowl are rub-ons that I received from my Valentine swap partner!

Valentine 2011 - Day 3 - What's up Giraffe?

Happy Wednesday of Valentine's week here on greengirlscraps!

Today I'm displaying a card I made for the other little girl at daycare.  This little girl loves giraffes.  At a zoo near us, you can feed the giraffes from a tall platform and she has loved doing so since she was a tiny baby.  She's just always loved it!

This giraffe is from Create a Critter, as well as the heart balloon and the clouds in the background.  I chose to make this a tall card since I wanted a big giraffe.  It is about 3.5 x 7 if I remember correctly.

I used my Cuttlebug folders to emboss the grass at the bottom of the card and to emboss the clouds in the sky.  I also inked the clouds with baby blue ink from Memories (which I got on clearance at Joanns last week!).  I also used some dark green to emboss the edge of the grass.  I really love the cloud inking.  I think it makes it look great!
The inside of the card has a stamp from MyPinkStamper that says "What's up?" and then another stamp that says "Happy Valentine's Day!"

I am absolutely in love with this card and the way it turned out.  Hope you like it!!

Valentine 2011 - Day 2 - Treat bags

It's Tuesday of Valentine week!  Today I'm going to share with you two treat bags I made for two moms I know.  Why?  Because moms deserve Valentine's too of course!!

Here is a picture of both bags:

This bag is made with the Lite cart, Celebrate with Flourish.  I wanted to do something that wasn't too cutesy for them.  You can see I glued down the heart before I remembered to staple the topper on the bag :(  I used my ATG gun so it definitely wasn't coming back off of there.  So I made due...

This bag is made with the heart from Wall Decor and More.  Again, not something cutesy.  On the back of both bags I wrote a little message with a silver pen.

Valentine 2011 - Day 1 - Penguins Celebrate Valentine's Day too!

Welcome to Valentine week on greengirlscraps!
Tune in all week for some cute projects!

There are two little girls that go to the same day care as my daughter.  This card is for one of them to go with the Valentine's Day gift we got her.  All the cuts are from Create a Critter.  I wanted to use this cute little penguin and then saw that a cut that went with it was the igloo.

I then thought, how cute would it be if the penguin decorated his igloo with a little heart banner?? I thought this was ingenius and had to go with it!  Banners are all the rage right now you know...  :)  The banner is actually the string of Christmas lights from further back in the booklet, with some small hearts put over the Christmas lights.

I added some Stickles to the igloo to give it both bling and an icy look.  Thanks for looking!

Cricut Circle Valentine Swap

So many people had such a good time with the Christmas Swap that the Cricut Circle decided to do a Valentine's Day swap too!  I had a wonderful partner named Jenny and we sent each other packages.  Here is what I received from her:

Isn't that awesome??  There are stamps in there, ribbons, buttons, paper, stamp pads, glitter, and more!  And look at those three adorable heart Valentines she made us!!  One for me, and one for each of my girls.  They were stuffed with candy inside, which I am sorry to say mostly got eaten up upon arrival!  :)

Thank you Jenny!  You rocked!  I really hope you enjoyed your package as well!

Valentine Card using Rock Princess

I was attempting to use the Rock Princess cart for another project earlier this week when I came across this cute heart.  I knew I had to use it for something Valentine's.  It originally has a crown perched on it's top left hump but that didn't fit the atmosphere I was going for so I cut it off.

The corners were punched with a corner punch from Creative Memories.  It still looked too plain so I added the darker pink to the corners and that tied in perfectly to bring out the ribbon.

I added a gem to my ribbon to pretty it up.  The ribbon is also popped off the page using some dimensionals.  I then used white ink and a stamp from the $1 bin at Michael's for the sentiment inside.

Hope you like it!

Valentine Treat Bags 2011

Hello!  It's time to start crafting Valentine items!  Last night I made this cute little treat bag using the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.

The rainbow is cut at 2.5".  The bag topper is roughly 3x4 inches and fits over the top of a clear bag, that I cut down to a size that meets the size of my treats.  This is one box of candy hearts.

The saying stamp is from a collection I got at JoAnn's a long time ago.  The face of the heart is a Peachy Keen stamp.

Thanks for looking!  I will also post the card I made soon!
